Joseph Coote is a Director in Arthur D. Little's Boston office and the head of our Global Energy and Chemicals Practice. Joe has worked with clients in all sectors of the chemical and energy industry in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate and divisional strategy development, capital project development, technology management, due diligence, venture assessment, and operations improvement. He is a recognized leader in cross border M&A helping our industry and financial clients meet demanding growth and value objectives.
Before joining Arthur D. Little, Joseph Coote worked for CRA International where he was Vice President of their Global Industrial Consulting practice which included Energy, Chemicals, and Industrials. Prior to this position, he was a senior research associate at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., where he was responsible for International chemical equity research. He was also a senior member of the chemical and pharmaceutical practice at A.T. Kearney. Joseph holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering as well as an MBA in Finance.

Dr. Matthias von Bechtolsheim is a Director in Arthur D. Little´s Wiesbaden office. He is responsible for the Energy and Utilities practice in Central Europe. He has experience with large and midsize utilities companies as well as other service and manufacturing industries. The focus of his work is business and technology innovation and IT strategy. He has a diploma and PhD in business administration from the University of Cologne.

Hyunggee is Director in Arthur D. Little's Seoul office. He has extensive experience with management consulting. He holds an MBA from NYU, and a BS in Chemical Engineering and an MS degree in Polymer Science from the Seoul National University.

Daniel Deneffe is located in our Brussels Office. Daniel has more than 14 years of management consulting experience. His primary focus is in marketing & sales excellence, price and margin management, and growth strategy. He has applied his expertise across many industries, ranging from commodity chemicals and cement to highly specialized medical devices. Daniel is a former Professor in Strategy at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University.

Wilhelm is Central Europe Strategy & Organization and Corporate Finance Practice Leader with considerable consulting experience. He is also affiliated to the Chemicals, Manufacturing and the Consumer Goods & Retail practices. Wilhelm holds a Beverage Engineering Degree and a Master of Business Administration.

Dr. Uwe Nickel is an Associate Director with Arthur D. Little´s Chemicals Practice. He has more than 20 long international business experience in the chemical industry with focus on Specialty Chemicals. The focus of his work is business strategies, innovation process management and operations and organizational optimizations. He has a diploma and PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Frankfurt and is author of several publications in the chemical industry.

Frederik is a Director in Arthur D. Little’s Benelux N.V./S.A. office based in Brussels, and is a member of the Technology and Innovation Management Practice. Most of his work is focused on helping organizations enact the changes required to improve performance and realize their objectives. He has extensively worked in innovation, R&D and technology management, strategy implementation and improving organization development and effectiveness in the chemicals, agriculture, aquaculture, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods industries. He has over 20 years of experience in management consulting.
Frederik studied at Twente University in the Netherlands and at Manchester Business School. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German. He is co-author of the books "Third Generation R&D Management" published by Harvard Business School Press, and "The Innovation Premium" published by Perseus Books.
He regularly teaches Innovation and Technology Management at IMD/ETH/EPL, Theseus (at Sophia Antipolis) and the Solvay Brussels School of the Free University of Brussels.

Hiroshi has considerable experience as a consultant heading projects for clients in manufacturing, systems integration and engineering. Hiroshi has a degree in Applied Chemistry.

Theo Jan Simons is a Director with Arthur D. Little Benelux. He focuses on Chemical Industry Consulting worldwide where he worked with 15 out of top 20 global chemical companies. In more than 15 years in management consulting Theo Jan gained experience in business strategy and performance improvement, post merger integration, IT strategy and governance, and core process redesign. He has also led business cases and design projects for shared services and business process outsourcing.
Before joining Arthur D. Little, Theo Jan Simons led Accenture's Global Chemical practice and worked with Shell Chemicals in research, manufacturing, and business development. Theo Jan holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University in the Netherlands with majors in polymer technology and environmental engineering.
